The bucket wheel drive shaft is supported by large rolling bearings in an oil-filled bearing box and driven by three hydraulic motors through a pinion gear and a heavy-duty large gear, with a double-cone mechanical seal in the gearbox.
The bucket wheel drive is fitted with a guard to protect the hydraulic motors and hydraulic hoses.
The forced lubrication of the bucket wheel gearbox consists of an electric oil pump, an oil tank and filter, which is installed in the cabin and supplies clean oil to the bucket wheel gearbox to provide its working life.
