Maintenance of dredger suction pump

Feb 07, 2020

1. Lubrication of suction pump

The mud suction pump is made into bearing parts with lubricating oil to operate. If the lubricating oil is absent, the friction coefficient between the various parts will increase, and in serious cases, the risk of bearing pads may occur. Therefore, we must regularly apply lubricating oil to the suction pump in daily use, so as to ensure the normal operation of various components.

2. Anti-corrosion maintenance

The mud suction pump is often in contact with silt and water during its operation. A large amount of mud water is sprayed on the pump for a long time. If it is not maintained for a long time, the pump casing will be oxidized. Although the exterior of the pump casing is coated with waterproof paint, the waterproof paint will fall off to varying degrees after long-term use. Therefore, it must be painted with waterproof paint regularly, and the suction pump must be waterproofed.

3. Replacement of fan blades

After long-term use, the fan blades will also experience varying degrees of wear (a basic type of component failure), so it is necessary to inspect and maintain the fan blades regularly. If the fan blades are found to be severely worn, replace them with new ones immediately to ensure that the suction pump can perform normally.
